Thyroid Support

When your thyroid malfunctions or doesn’t function efficiently, you can be left with a hormone imbalance that leaves you with many uncomfortable physical symptoms. These symptoms can become debilitating if they are not addressed.

Chiropractic care concerns the balance within your body. Spinal adjustments can balance your hormones as well as address many of the uncomfortable symptoms. The most commonly treated thyroid issue is hypothyroidism which is when your thyroid is underactive and not working properly.

With hypothyroidism, your metabolism is slowed and weight gain and obesity are common. Additional discomforts in the form of pain and loss of memory and mobility are frequent.

What Can You Expect from Thyroid Support?

When you put your thyroid care in the hands of your chiropractor, you can expect that your systems will be more in balance with a spinal adjustment that can relieve your other symptoms as well.

Another key to treating thyroid problems is proper nutrition. Your chiropractor will probably counsel you on nutritional habits that will improve your quality of life as it relates to your thyroid problems.

You will feel relief from much of the pain symptoms that come from thyroid conditions. You may find symptoms of depression and cognitive dysfunction improved. You will be more comfortable following treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

With Hypothyroidism, you may have a reduction in the amount of iodine that you have in your body. If you are not otherwise sensitive to iodine, you might want to consider adding it to your diet through things like using iodized salt.

There is a condition known as Hashimoto’s that can cause these symptoms and more. It can also produce symptoms that resemble cancer. With Hashimoto’s, you would need to consult your endocrinologist as this is not something that can be diagnosed by your chiropractor. If you do have Hashimoto’s, surgical intervention is usually required.

With Hyperthyroidism, the thyroid is overactive and produces too much of the thyroid hormone. This condition can mostly affect your metabolism. People with Hyperthyroidism find that they cannot gain weight. Other symptoms include irritability, abnormal heart rhythms, hyperactivity, mood swings, heat intolerance, and depression.
