Headaches & Migraines
Headaches and migraines can be a condition so debilitating that it can eventually lead to disability. Migraines themselves affect an estimated 38 million people, most of whom are women. Migraines are the sixth most disabling condition in the world.
When it comes to chiropractic treatments, your type of headache will dictate the treatment you receive. Migraines don’t respond that well to adjustment, but there are treatments that can alleviate your migraine symptoms.
Tension headaches, sinus headaches, and cervicogenic headaches respond more readily to chiropractic treatment.
What to Expect from Headache & Migraine Treatments
The first thing that will happen will be to ascertain the type of headache you have. If your headache is a tension headache, then you will have a craniocervical adjustment of your neck. These have proven to be quite successful in the treatment of tension headaches.
If your headache is a migraine, there is no cure-all adjustment. However, the various symptoms that come with your migraine can be treated. A cervicogenic headache is very rare but does respond well to spinal adjustment.
